History:
Universal Pharmaceutical Industries "UNIPHARMA" is one of
the prominent advanced firms that is specialized in Pharmaceutical Industries
in Syria, established in 1990 according to The Syrian Investment Law No. 10.
and which is located in Damascus suburbs.
Construction was performed in compliance with GMP standards
set by WHO and per cooperation with experts from the best international
pharmaceutical firms, for which UNIPHARMA manufactures their products under
license and under direct supervision of them to affirm quality control and
quality assurance. UNIPHARMA was awarded ISO 9001 by SIS and it is in the final
stages to get the ISO environment 14001.

UNIPHARMA operates by balanced system among administration,
production, marketing and promotion by applying electronic communication
systems and computer programs in most of its activities and trying to develop
such systems constantly. The work status at UNIPHARMA secured a good chance for
it to be awarded ISO 9001 and 14001 and for constant progress. UNIPHARMA
products cover most of treatment fields such as : Cardio-vascular drugs,
Respiratory Tract Drugs, Central Nervous System Drugs, Dermatological Drugs,
Metabolism Disturbance Drugs, Anti-biotics, Antiseptics, etc.

UNIPHARMA has been concerned to secure its products for the last
consumer at any place in Syria through an integrated distribution net and per
compact system that assures full cooperation among its sections; so that
UNIPHARMA products are constantly available at the farthest of the distribution
channels at all the pharmacies in Syria, in addition to their availability at
hospitals, clinics, public and private medical centers; all of which per
smooth, easy mechanism that secures constant equilibrium between production and

Marketing and Exportation:
Our firm, Unipharma, since its establishment has paid
special attention for export, noting that this care has continuously increased
owing to the constant demand of the foreign markets for our products, which are
distinguished by their high quality and assured by our firm obtaining ISO
certificates No. 2001 and No.14001.
Also our manufacture under license for 18 well-known International
Pharmaceutical Firms and their valuable contribution by supplying us with the
technical assistance and guidance as well as Know How, all of which gave us the
basic support to manufacture the most renowned products of our Licensors.

The main aim of the Founder and Chairman of UNIPHARMA , Dr.
Pharmacist Mohammed Adnan Maatouk, who has been working in the pharmaceutical
and medical fields since 1954 as manager of Scientific Office and Marketing for
well-known international pharmaceutical firms, is to manufacture local products
of the highest quality, securing efficacy, latest standards and economic cost
of the other international firms. It is worth saying that UNIPHARMA, through
the supervision of its chairman and the efforts of its board of directors
including his sons and all the directors, its staff of doctors, pharmacists,
technicians and managers, spare no effort in achieving the Chairman's life-time
target, which is the establishment of scientific, advanced and developing
pharmaceutical industry to secure constantly the good, effective drug at
appropriate cost for all levels and in time of need.
through the current system of strict control among the
sections : production, management and marketing. This control is meant to
handle pre-emptive impediments and obstacles and at the same time to be
flexible to solve any problem in case it occurs and at all levels.
Vision:
UNIPHARMA has long range vision for 20 years and for several
stages. It has started the execution of expansion of Production Lines and
creating new ones, all of which are expected to be finalized at the end of 2006
, noting that their study complied with the conditions of the Licensors.
UNIPHARMA is looking forward to achieving this target through its current
establishment on about 10,000 sq.m. and its expansion of about 25,000 sq.m.,
which has already started and will be ready in 2006.
